OVERVIEW

The Safety Manager is responsible for developing and implementing health and safety plans, enforcing policies, and evaluating practices to ensure compliance with legal guidelines. The Safety Manager will also assess and identify risks that could negatively impact the reputation, safety, security, and/or financial success of Construction Resources.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, and conduct safety and compliance training programs.
- Conduct regular meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance.
- Develop and implement comprehensive risk and safety policies and procedures that align with local, state, and federal regulations as well as industry best practices.
- Prepare and present detailed reports and recommend corrective actions to senior leadership team.
- Provide guidance and support to department managers and employees on safety matters, including hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident prevention techniques.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure risk and safety considerations are incorporated into all aspects of operations, including facility design, equipment selection, and process modifications.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable laws and regulations and communicate relevant changes to stakeholders.
- Partner with Human Resources management team to lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation to prevent recurrence.
- Track and report all incidents in a timely and accurate manner.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with regulatory agencies, industry groups, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for risk and safety related communications and inquiries.
- Monitor and manage relevant safety and environmental programs.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures that include maintaining a log of safety inspection activities, reports, and correspondence.
- Implement and manage risk and safety performance metrics and reporting systems. Generate regular reports to communicate progress, highlight areas of concern, and recommend improvements to senior leadership team.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a Risk and Safety role.
- Experience developing and implementing safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Experience in formulating policy and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to lead incident investigations, perform risk assessments, and develop and execute corrective action plans.
- Ability to motivate teams and simultaneously manage several projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in manufacturing, construction, or similar category
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a Risk and Safety leadership role
- Strong understanding of risk management systems and frameworks, such as OHSAS 18001 or ISO 45001.
- In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations and standards, such as OSHA, EPA, and ISO 14001. Certification in relevant occupational safety disciplines (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist) is desirable.

WORK LOCATION
Onsite – In order to fulfill responsibilities of the Safety Manager position, this job is required to work in a specific Construction Resources manufacturing, production, or office environment. Additional details will be provided during the interview process.
