The Garage Service Technician works directly with customers to install, diagnose, etc garage doors. The Garage door Service Technician is responsible for responding quickly and efficiently to clients’ requests. Garage Door Service Technicians are expected to comply with federal regulations that require documentation and proper disposal of refrigerants.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities:
- Install residential overhead garage doors, light duty commercial roll-up doors and electric operators
- Follow installation best practices and training guidelines provided
- Follow established company safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment
- Effectively manage time and resources to complete work order forms and other required paperwork in accordance with company standards
- Ability to effectively communicate with the customer and represent the company in a professional manner at all times
- Perform other related projects and duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- 3 years experience installing / service of garage doors and openers
- Proficiency with basic hand tools
- Clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a diverse environment
- Mechanically adept individuals who can lift up to 80 pounds
- Experience working with basic hand and power tools *
- Previous construction experience preferred, but not necessary
- Must possess a valid driver's license with good driving record
- Capability of working flexible hours (average 40 to 50 hours per week)
- Employee will be responsible for providing all hand tools for proper Garage Door installation; ladders, extension cords, and daily supplies will be provided by the Company

Salary
Pay rate is piecerate; earning potential range, $65,000-$80,000 (annual salary)
Work Environment
Works in a construction environment, generally under construction. Loading and unloading material into garages in preparation for installation. Work area may need to be prepped prior to installation.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak or hear. The employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Schedule
Monday through Friday, no later than 7:00 start time. Ending time will depend on amount of work given for the day. Some weekend work is required, depending on the amount of work coming into the shop.
Salary : $65,000 - $80,000
