Reporting to the Underwriting Manager, this position is responsible for managing the loan pipeline and allocation of underwriting assignments to ensure efficient workflows meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs). This position provides guidance to underwriters in assessing borrower risk and maintaining decision accuracy and compliance with regulatory and company guidelines. The role will serve as the point person to resolve complex underwriting scenarios, workflow challenges, and escalations, and partner with loan officers, processors, and other stakeholders to resolve underwriting-related issues.
What you will do for Constructive Loans:
- Lead and/or participate in team projects and initiatives to include streamlining workflow/processes
- Guide underwriters in assessing borrower risk, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company requirements
- Provide expertise on complex underwriting scenarios and support team members with escalated issue
- Monitor underwriting performance metrics and quality assurance processes to ensure operational consistency
- Collaborate with loan officers, processors, and operational teams to facilitate seamless workflows and resolve underwriting-related issues
- Review and process loan applications, ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with investor guidelines
- Provide support to processors and loan officers with structuring loan deals, updating loans with new terms, and identifying additional conditions if necessary
- Analyze appraisals, titles, credit reports, and related documentation, ensuring qualification according to Company guidelines
- Partner with management to identify workflow challenges and implement solutions to enhance team efficiency
- Support onboarding, training, and development of underwriters to maintain high-performance standards
- Monitor regulatory changes and company policy updates to ensure underwriting processes remain compliant
- Develop domain knowledge of Fay’s business to include an understanding of organizational objectives
- Develop positive working relationships within the team and across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with Fay’s policies, processes, and practices. Successfully complete all department and company-required training

- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
What you will bring to Constructive Loans:
- High School diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field preferred
- 3 years’ experience with residential mortgage products and/or high-net-worth borrowers
- 3 years of experience in mortgage underwriting
- Prior experience reviewing, analyzing, and calculating qualifying income documents including business bank statements, property, credit, assets, and funds required to close.
- In-depth knowledge of underwriting guidelines, regulations, and risk assessment principles
- Solid understanding of legal documentation relating to business entities including partnerships and corporations
- Encompass experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment
- Solid skills and experience in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
