The Consulate General of Israel to the Southeastern United States is looking to add a Director of Community Relations to their growing Atlanta team. The right candidate for this role will be able to commute five days a week to the midtown Atlanta office.
The mission of the Atlanta-based Consulate is to strengthen the ties between Israel and states in the Southeastern U.S. (Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee). This work to advance and deepen diplomatic relations engages diverse communities across various sectors of society – from politics and economics to academia, culture, and media – in order to motivate different American audiences to actively promote partnerships with Israel.
From one day to the next, such work might involve roles in public—facing events, meetings with strategic partners to explore innovative programming opportunities, involvement in/attendance at the community events, religious observances, and national holidays of various groups (such as faith-based congregation, international aid and development groups, chambers of commerce, university departments, political institutions, press clubs, civic groups, and beyond).
You will work alongside the Directors in the fields of Public Affairs, Political Affairs, Academics and Jewish Community Affairs to plan, execute, and generally support the success of their events, which will regularly involve the following central task/objective: coordinating logistics, establishing plans and expectations for engagement, and creating and amplifying content.

This position provides the opportunity to act as a liaison for the Consulate General of Israel. This position is an excellent opportunity to work extensively and closely with various communities in the Southeastern region of the united states including, African American, Latino and Asian.
Position Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and development of positive working relationships with contacts at all levels
- Organization of positive cultural events with diverse audiences and event types. : Researches trends of minority communities such as: Latino, Hispanic, Christian, LGBTQIA and women.
Identifies leaders and creates liaisons with other communities.
Coordinates meetings for government officials with key political, academic, business, religious, cultural and influential leaders.
Arranges visits for dignitaries introducing them to the Latino and minority communities and promoting their visit.
Works with team in order to bring international speakers, artists, and performers to minority audiences.
IF fluent in Spanish - responsibilities include coordinating interviews with Spanish media outlets, preparing media responses and press releases, and conducting radio and television interviews.
Can act as an emissary and/or spokesperson at key events.
Qualifications: A bachelor's degree is required; candidates will be considered from all majors/fields and levels of experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge and understanding of the unique nature of the Southern US; preferably have experience working with community partners and organizations. The ideal candidate will have excellent computer skills, especially in the Microsoft Office suite. The ability to handle sensitive information is required. Candidates will be selected on writing and demonstrated interpersonal skills, previous work experience, multi-tasking abilities, and his/her aptitude to work at a high level of intensity.

Ability to maintain effective communication and working relationships with team members
Good organizational skills and event planning expertise
Good people skills and the ability to maintain multiple relationships and events simultaneously
Strong writing skills; ability to craft timely executive correspondence, reports, and memos on trends, visits, and meetings
Skill in communicating orally by preparing and presenting briefings and presentations for government officials and outside parties
Experience in small and large scale event planning and logistical coordination of working trips
Social Media savvy (Twitter, Facebook, IG, Tik Tok, website platforms)
