Position Summary
As an experienced sonographer, you will be working in a fast-paced patient-centric environment where you will be relied on for your expertise, professionalism, and collaboration. This position performs transvaginal and transabdominal ultrasounds for gynecological and obstetrical patients.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare ultrasound equipment and exam room ensuring proper sterilization and safety procedures are followed.
- Use positioning tools and safety equipment properly to ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging.
- Review the patient's medical chart prior to their appointment and have a clear understanding of the images required.
- Performs ultrasound examinations per scanning protocols, comparing patient history with examination and presents study to physicians.
- Meet with providers to answer questions or attain detailed relating to ordered sonographic images and assist providers with in-office portable ultrasound exams.
- Use ethical judgment and critical thinking skills to perform diagnostic imaging safely.
- Review images before sending to the physician to ensure a clear image of the area requested.

- Maintains documentation as required including patient files, performs data entry and completes paperwork needed for procedures/processes.
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Assists with maintaining supplies and equipment.
- Assists clerical staff with front desk support when needed.
- Attend continuing education courses and work to advance personal knowledge and experience within the field.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and Graduate of an accredited Sonographer Program are both required.
Licensure:
- Must have received a Certificate of completion from an Allied Health Education (AMA) accredited radiography abdominal and OB/GYN ultrasound program which meets the certification requirements of the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
Experience:
- 3 years of experience in radiology performing abdominal and transvaginal OB/GYN ultrasound radiological exams.
- Preferably have experience in a maternal-fetal medicine office.
- Proficiency with EMR for documentation and sonographic report presentation.
- Demonstrated knowledge and adherence to HIPAA legislation and other patient privacy laws.
- Experience working with sensitive and personal patient records and information.
- Physical endurance and the ability to work primarily in a standing position.
- Proficient in troubleshooting common software and hardware challenges in relation to the regular use of an ultrasound machine.
- Accountability and attention to detail is essential when handling and documenting important medical information.
- A friendly and professional demeanor is required when explaining procedures and processes to patients.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $35.00 - $80.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 per week
Schedule:

Experience:
- OB/GYN ultrasound: 3 years (Required)
- performing ultrasounds in MFM office: 2 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Required)
