What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior OT Engineer position at Consulting Solutions?
Senior OT Engineer as the Operational Technology (OT) SME responsible for ensuring the security, reliability, and efficiency of operational technology systems for manufacturing facilities with the primary facility located in Battle Creek, MI for twelve (12) months.
- Will liaise between each manufacturing facility’s engineering team and WKKC’s corporate IT Engineering and Architecture teams to consult and support key safety, segmentation, and remote access strategies.
- Will provide a site read-out or health check highlighting potential OT risks and read out to the site, business unit, and IT leadership on a regular cadence.
- Site OT and IT Security: Support the development and implementation of OT security strategies focusing on visibility, segmentation, and secure remote access that also support site and business unit initiatives.
- Track asset inventories, end of life assets, and baseline network activities to detect abnormalities to ensure security and reduce vulnerabilities.
- Collaboration and Communication: Foster strong relationships between IT, OT, and site engineering teams to ensure reliable operations.
- Network and System: Monitor OT networks and control systems, ensuring they are secure and operational. Support and execute segmentation strategies to reduce the risk of infections or events impacting operational environments.
- Threat Detection and Response: Utilize various detection engines to monitor OT security and integrity events.
- Prioritize and respond to real-time alerts based on risk assessments.
- Vulnerability Management: Identify, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities within OT environments. Use tools like Claroty to map attack vectors and assess risks.
- Skills and Competencies: Strong understanding of OT and IT network segmentation. Proficiency in security protocols and threat detection tools.
- Solid understanding of OT architectural design and implementation.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage and secure OT networks and systems effectively.
- Experience using Palo Alto firewalls, Claroty, managing PLCs and OT sensors.
