What are the responsibilities and job description for the Windows Engineer position at Consulting Solutions?
- Experience sunsetting AirWatch (completely retire AirWatch – By the end of Q1)
- Delivering CrowdStrike for windows endpoints with 100% saturation, evolution of HRG devices, Z3/China Tenant, etc.
- Deliver a process to ensure all relevant active business devices to be at least N-2 patches (current standard is N-3)
- Deliver on all Security Hardening requirements identified during most recent SAE review
- Deliver a cookie cutter/templatized approach to annual OS upgrade that can be reused each year (aids clarity amongst tech community). Then, utilize to deliver required upgrade campaign (provisionally 24H2 Feature Release), ensure 100% saturation for WPS Managed Business Computers & Shared Devices (before current version 22H2 goes EOL in October)
- In Parallel, plan & deliver a Windows 10 -> Windows 11 Upgrade campaign for Shared Devices, including process update for net new device
- Generate required Reporting to track process to Windows team 2025 goals, Contribute to WPS wide Reporting Strategy/Analytics Strategy – Desire for inherent flexibility to deal with adhoc/growing needs.
- Evaluate Intune Suite capabilities and formulate recommendation as to whether to adopt ready for BP 2026
- Partnering with LRL to move to device management from SCCM to Intune.
- Elimination of technical debt and effort for SCCM support/management.
- Partner with other Tech teams to embrace new opportunities that can be enabled via Intune (Android Use cases and MFG and MRTS requirements)
- Execute a Tiger team to identify and start to tackle: User Experience improvements, elimination of set up guidance, Intune process stabilization/enhancement, Software delivery process/speed improvements.
- Deliver Windows team aspects of WPS goal of 100% live agent ticket reduction (all tickets to go through chatNow)
- Partner within WPS to influence hardware strategy, software delivery strategy and new hires/leavers process.
