Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager with a strong background in heavy civil and highway construction to join our team. This role involves overseeing all aspects of project planning, execution, and completion while ensuring safety, quality, and budgetary requirements are met. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project management and leadership in the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the estimating and scheduling of projects using tools such as HCSS (Heavy Bid), Primavera, and Microsoft Office.
- Manage project budgeting and assist with setting up project controls, including materials procurement, work plan submittals, and job cost tracking.
- Develop comprehensive project plans and oversee execution to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Read and interpret technical specifications and plans with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Implement and monitor Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) processes and material testing standards.
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Utilize both traditional grade stake checking and Trimble GPS software/hardware for grade set-up and control.
- Supervise and provide leadership guidance to personnel, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
- Oversee subcontractor and material supplier performance, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- Coordinate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of experience in general construction management, with a focus on heavy civil and highway projects.
- Proficiency in estimating and scheduling software (e.g., HCSS, Primavera) and Microsoft Office applications.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or equivalent experience is preferred.
- In-depth understanding of technical plans, specifications, QA/QC processes, and material testing procedures.
- Strong knowledge of project safety standards and protocols.
- Hands-on experience with grade set-up and control systems, including Trimble GPS.
