Cybersecurity Engineer
Contract to Hire
Remote USA
Target Pay $60 - $80/hr, up to $155k base salary once direct hire
Job Description:
Work with a team of six high performing technology professionals on company web-applications. Participate in the designing, implementation, and security controls. This is a crucial role to develop secure solutions and maintain cyber security controls. The work is for a federal government software company, working on DOD projects – must be able to obtain a federal security clearance.
Required Skills:
- 3-5 years software application security experience
- Experience with PKI, SEIM, OWASP
- Knowledge or experience with NIST, ISO27001, or CIS
- Familiar with STIG's (security technical implementation guides)
- Familiar with security requirements guides for the D.O.D.
- Familiar with DOD/DISA STIG viewer tool
- Strong scripting and programming skills (will be evaluated based on those you know – can learn other scripting programs specific to this client)
- Security certification
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer science, Cybersecurity, or other similar technology field
Desired Skills:
- Any addition security certifications such as SSCP, CISSP, GSEC, GISP or similar
- Experience with security tools, firewalls, intruder detection systems, SIEM solutions, etc...
- Experience or familiarity with DOD programs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
