Sr. Power BI Engineer
6 - 12 month contract (possible conversion)
Job Description:
Our client is looking for an experienced and dynamic Power BI Engineer to lead the engineering efforts in migrating from Qlik to Power BI. This is a very technical role for someone with expertise developing complex BI Reports. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the migration process, ensuring the successful implementation of Power BI across the organization, and optimizing business intelligence capabilities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Power BI, data modeling, and the migration of data reporting solutions from Qlik to Power BI.
Required Skills:
- 3 years of experience in Power BI development, with a strong understanding of data visualization, DAX, and Power Query
- Experience doing Qlik to Power BI Migration
- Demonstrated experience developing complex Power BI Reports.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and data integration tools
- Experience with designing data models and implementing ETL processes
- Solid understanding of business intelligence concepts, KPIs, and reporting strategies
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on data quality and performance optimization
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders
- SAP BW Integration experience
- Experience with other Azure services (e.g., Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake)
- Azure Databricks knowledge or experience
- Familiarity with other BI tools and their integration with Power BI
- Familiarity with cloud-based data environments (e.g., Azure, AWS)
- Experience with Power BI Service and Power BI embedded solutions
- Knowledge of version control and deployment best practices for BI solutions
- Certification in Power BI (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate) is a plus
