Job Description :

ConsultNet is conducting a search on behalf of our client for a Senior SIS Administrator to support the expansion and ongoing operations of their K thru 12 (k-12) public charter schools across the U.S. This position focuses on managing and maintaining Student Information Systems (SIS) for a growing network of schools, ensuring seamless implementation, data accuracy, and system reliability.

The Senior SIS Administrator will work closely with cross-functional teams to configure, maintain, and enhance SIS platforms such as PowerSchool and other related tools. This role requires expertise in data analysis, SQL-based reporting, and system integrations to meet compliance requirements and optimize educational operations.

Key Responsibilities

SIS Implementation & Management

Lead SIS setup and integrations for new schools, while providing operational support for existing locations.
Collaborate with enrollment and technical teams to map and migrate data effectively within the learning ecosystem.
Configure systems to comply with state-specific reporting and funding requirements.

Operational Support

Oversee day-to-day operations of SIS platforms, troubleshooting and resolving issues to maintain an optimal learning experience.

Perform regular maintenance, updates, and application management for district servers, including coordination with third-party vendors.

Support various departments by fulfilling data requests, creating custom reports, and configuring grading structures, transcripts, and graduation plans.

Compliance & Reporting

Ensure timely submission of federal and state reports by maintaining accurate and compliant system configurations.

Develop and implement validation rules within SIS platforms based on updated state documentation and reporting guidelines.

Build and maintain SQL reports to extract actionable insights for administrators and stakeholders.

Training & Documentation

Design and deliver training sessions for school leaders and staff, particularly during year-end rollovers and new system implementations.

Create sample data sets to test new functionality or assist in onboarding schools.

System Integration & Enhancements

Integrate additional tools and systems that support CTE programs, Special Education, and student achievement tracking.

Maintain system availability, security, and reliability to align with organizational goals.

Qualifications

Required :

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Education, or a related field.

5 years of professional experience, ideally in SIS administration or a related field.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to balance short-term tasks and long-term projects in a fast-paced environment.

Technical proficiency and ability to quickly learn new processes and software platforms.

Prior experience in an education or similar environment is highly desirable. i.e. worked for a school system / district as single point of contact handling SIS Administration for all schools.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across teams.

Flexibility to work outside regular business hours as needed to resolve critical system issues.

Preferred :

Hands-on experience with PowerSchool, including custom page creation, plugins, integrations, registration, scheduling, grading, and APIs.

Familiarity with EOY procedures, report card setup, school launches, and LMS integrations (e.g., Canvas).

Proficiency in SQL, database administration, and Microsoft Office tools, especially advanced Excel functions.

Knowledge of platforms like Naviance, PSSP (PowerSchool Special Programs), or other special education and career / technical education tools.

Experience with state reporting processes, including updating School IDs and enrollment statuses.

Experience with Salesforce and integrating SIS's and LMS (Canvas, or similar) systems and aligning with different requirements set forth by state law, ensuring constant compliance, etc.
