Description:
Our client has an immediate need for a Middleware & Application Support Engineer who will assist the application development teams with eliminating depreciated code in the current platform and assisting them with other issues as they develop against the new platform.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree is a plus or equivalent experience
- Any IBM, ODM, WebSphere or OpenShift certification is a plus
- 2-4 years of experience
- Must have technical skills: Must Have Technical Skills: IBM MQ Series, IBM Operational Decision Manager Developer, IBM Operational Decision Manager Developer v8, Kubernettes, OpenShift, RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), REST API Development, WAS Liberty and WAS ND
- Experience with IBM ODMv9 and Helm Charts would be a plus
- Ability to work with application development teams in a consulting/advisory role
Responsibilities:
- Direct staff to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary.
- Review and approve the planning and implementation of network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
- Review and approve the design, configuration and testing of computer hardware, networking software and operating system software.
- Monitor network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and counsel organization on where changes will need to be made in the future.
- Present system flow diagrams to organization and review and approve systems procedures.
- Supervise systems implementation.
- Supervise and assist in computer networking and computer operation functions
