Duties
- Provide personal care services including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.
- Assist clients with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Monitor patient health and report any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Administer medication as prescribed and ensure adherence to medication schedules.
- Prepare meals according to dietary needs and preferences while maintaining a clean cooking environment.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation, particularly for those with memory care needs.
- Support individuals with autism by implementing specific strategies tailored to their unique requirements.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment within group homes or community settings.
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with autism is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with group home environments and home community care practices.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively.
- Proficient in medication administration protocols.
- Cooking skills to prepare nutritious meals for clients.
- Strong patient monitoring abilities to observe changes in health status.
- Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Previous experience in memory care or nursing is advantageous.
