Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and reliable Sibling Respite Provider to assist in providing temporary relief for a family of two children with special needs. The Sibling Respite Provider will support the children with engaging activities, assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), and offer emotional support, allowing the primary caregivers to take a well-deserved break. This position requires a kind and understanding individual who can offer a safe, supportive, and enjoyable environment for the child.
Wage/Schedule:
$17.70/Hour
Up to 10 Hours a Week
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in Fun and Interactive Activities: Plan and facilitate enjoyable and age-appropriate activities, such as arts and crafts, outdoor play, games, or hobbies, to promote creativity, fun, and social skills.
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Help with the child’s personal care needs, including eating, dressing, bathing, and other routine tasks, ensuring comfort and dignity.
- Provide Safety Supervision: Monitor the child’s safety at all times, whether indoors or outdoors, and respond promptly to any needs or emergencies.
- Offer Emotional Support: Provide emotional encouragement and a listening ear, helping the child feel comfortable, valued, and confident.
- Foster Positive Relationships: Build trust and rapport with the child, promoting a healthy, positive, and supportive environment.
- Communicate Effectively with Caregivers: Keep caregivers informed of the child’s activities, progress, and any concerns during respite care. Maintain open and professional communication with families.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children in a caregiving, mentorship, or support role (preferred).
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage children in meaningful and enjoyable activities.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to offer emotional and practical support to children.
- Ability to follow instructions and respect the child’s care plan as provided by the family.
- Must be able to respond calmly and effectively in any situation.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

- Flexible and adaptable, able to respond to the unique needs of the child.
- Experience working with children who have special needs (preferred).
- Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
