Job Description:
We’re seeking a compassionate Youth Respite Provider to support a lively, non-verbal autistic boy. The ideal candidate will be patient, creative, and skilled in using alternative communication methods (e.g., AAC devices). Compensation: $14.13/hour
Schedule: Up to 10 hours/week, flexible, arranged with the parent
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 direct care and supervision
- Engage in high-energy, fun activities (games, sports, walks)
- Assist with personal care, such as toileting, while maintaining dignity
- Support the child’s communication and behavior with a patient, quiet approach
- Ensure safety, addressing elopement concerns
- Create a calm, quiet environment as needed
Qualifications:
- Experience with children, especially those with autism, preferred
- Comfortable using communication tools (e.g., word board)
- High-energy, proactive, and patient
Requirements:
- Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance
- Ability to pass a criminal/caregiver background check
- CPR certification within 30 days of hire
- Authorization to work in the U.S.

CDCN’s role is to assist the Member or Managing Party in recruiting a Direct Care Worker. The Member or Managing Party has the sole authority to hire or dismiss any potential Direct Care Worker. *
