Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable individual to provide respite care for a young female with autism and ADHD. In this role, you will focus on ensuring safety, offering safety supervision, and assisting with daily living skills in a nurturing and supportive environment. This part-time position offers a fulfilling opportunity to make a positive difference while engaging in fun and developmental activities with the child.
Care Provided in the Child’s Home
Compensation:
$20.28/Hour
Schedule:
- Up to 5 hours per week
- Flexible schedule to be arranged in advance with the managing party (parent)
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 safety supervision and support based on the child’s individual needs
- Assist with daily living tasks, including meal preparation, hygiene routines, and basic household chores
- Engage the child in age-appropriate activities that promote social and emotional growth
- Build a positive, supportive relationship with the child, helping to foster independence and confidence
- Maintain open communication with the child’s parents or guardians, reporting on progress and any concerns
Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children, particularly those with autism and/or ADHD, is preferred
- Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow customized care plans and adapt to the child’s unique needs
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain)
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
- Ability to pass a criminal/caregiver background check
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- CPR certification preferred
