Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Youth Respite Provider to offer support and care for a child with disabilities in a home or community setting. This role is essential in providing temporary relief to families, ensuring that children receive the care they need while promoting their well-being and development. POSITION LOCATED IN MUSKEGO, MUST BE ABLE TO COMMUTE FOR SHIFTS
**Experience with special needs & non-verbal required**
SHIFTS:
- 15 hrs/month - Respite $21/hour before taxes
- Respite would be needed every other weekend, schedule to be determined with parent and provider!! FLEXIBLE HOURS!
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and personalized care to youth with disabilities, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
- Assist with daily living activities (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, promoting independence and skill development.
- Administer medications as prescribed while adhering to safety protocols.
- Engage children in recreational activities that foster social interaction and personal growth.
- Support families by offering respite care, allowing caregivers time for self-care and other responsibilities.
- Maintain clear communication with family members regarding the child’s progress and any concerns that may arise.
Experience
- Previous experience in caregiving, home care, or hospice care is preferred.
- Familiarity with working with individuals who have disabilities is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medication administration practices is essential.
- Ability to prepare nutritious meals that cater to dietary restrictions or preferences.
- Experience developing or following care plans tailored to individual needs is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with children and families.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Caregiver needs to be dependable, able to multi-task, work efficiently and trainable
- Be able to effectively communicate with the employer
- Must be physically be capable of keeping teen safe
- ** Autism training and experience required, high needs child**
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and pass a criminal background check
