Part-time Payroll Specialist

A consumer goods organization is seeking to hire a Payroll Specialist. Looking for someone who can run the company's bi-weekly payroll. Need a candidate who can be available for 2-3 days every other week. In this seat, you will run payroll using Paylocity - they outsource their payroll to Paylocity so just need someone who can review and process the report because it is sent. Need a candidate who has previous experience using Paylocity!

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Maintain employee records related to payroll, benefits administration, and timekeeping.
• Perform general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
• Utilize Kronos or similar software for tracking employee hours and attendance.
• Handle debits and credits related to payroll transactions.
• Conduct data entry tasks related to payroll adjustments, deductions, and benefits.
• Collaborate with the Human Resources department to manage employee benefits and resolve any discrepancies.
• Assist in the preparation of payroll reports for management review.
• Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

Requirements

• Proven experience in payroll processing or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of financial concepts, including double-entry bookkeeping.
• Familiarity with corporate accounting practices and general ledger reconciliation.
• Proficiency in data entry with a high level of accuracy.
• Experience with Kronos or similar timekeeping systems is preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with employees across various departments.
