About the Position:

Risk Analyst Level 1 - Irvine, CA (In-office position only)

CPS Inc., a publicly traded and established leader in the automotive finance industry, is seeking a motivated and analytical Risk Analyst I to join our team in Irvine, CA.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to launch a rewarding career in risk management.

As a Risk Analyst I, you will play a crucial role in supporting our risk management strategies through quantitative and qualitative research, model development, and data analysis. You will collaborate with experienced professionals to develop and implement risk scorecards, validate models, and support our Loan Origination Decision Engine.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to identify and analyze risk trends.
• Develop and maintain risk scorecards and models using statistical techniques.
• Perform data mining, regression analysis, and statistical testing to evaluate risk proposals and portfolio performance.
• Create and distribute reports to communicate risk analysis findings to management.
• Collaborate with team members to develop models, diagrams, and flowcharts for presentations.
• Produce ad-hoc reporting for various business units

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency in some combinations of SQL query development, Advanced Excel Formulas and Macros, Python/R Programming, and SAS Programming/SAS Visual Analytics is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of core database concepts.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
