LOCATION
This is a hybrid (virtual / onsite) position with minimum onsite requirements on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday preferred assigned to One Energy Plaza located in Jackson, MI but Alma Service Center located in Alma, MI and Grand Rapids Service Center located in Grand Rapids, MI may be considered as well. The selected candidate must be located within a commutable distance OR willing to relocate (relocation package available to those who qualify).
GENERAL SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Tariff Analyst will play a key role in overseeing the Company's gas and electric tariffs. This position involves supporting the development and modification of tariff language for regulatory proceedings with the Michigan Public Service Commission. The Senior Tariff Analyst is responsible for configuration in the Company's billing system. These requirements include accounting requirements, configuration requirements, bill messages, bill print and accuracy of billing. The incumbent is responsible for collaborating with business partners, legal and enterprise-wide business leadership to ensure conformance with all rates, tariffs and regulatory requirements. The Senior Tariff Analyst is responsible for supporting configuration of standard and complex billing requirements while ensuring accurate bills with consistent tariff application.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complex account set up; includes creation of standard work instructions to ensure consistency
- Review of complex production and / or audit simulation invoices following transport to production impacting rate configuration
- Participate in assigned project teams and collaborates to identify potential issues or conflicts with SAP configuration
- Lead regulatory proceedings; review of tariff proposals for potential billing system conflicts, provide production invoices for audit requests, support the Rate Administration team with staff and Intervenor Testimony review, PFD summary and final order summary
- Research complex billing issues; includes customer complaints and billing issues
- Other duties as assigned or may be necessary
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
OR) Associate's degree in English, Political Science, Finance, Legal, or Engineering related with six (6) or more years of experience with rates, billing, customer service, auditing and strong utility operations background as well as experience creating reports, learning new technology, change management and data analysis, SAP Front and Back Office (Business and Technical Master Data) and Business Intelligence
