Our reentry and rehabilitative services complement our supervision strategies by providing a unique blend of opportunity and accountability.Role Description The San Francisco Adult Probation Department (SFAPD) is dedicated to supporting justice-involved adults through personalized services that empower them to permanently exit the criminal justice system. As a second-level management position within the department, the Division Director, Adult Probation, plays a critical role in overseeing the administrative planning and coordination of divisional operations.Responsibilities Of The Role Under general direction of Senior Leadership, the APD Division Director is responsible for organizing, planning and directing the activities of a major division of the Adult Probation Department. Key responsibilities include : Leadership and RepresentationOperational OversightProgram and Policy DevelopmentStaff ManagementBudget and ReportingTrainingReentry and Client ServicesHow to Qualify Minimum Qualifications These minimum qualifications are to be used as a guide for establishing the education, training, experience, special skills and / or license(s) which are required for employment in the classification.Education Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, psychology, criminology, or a related field.Experience Five (5) years of professional experience as a probation officer or community corrections officer in the federal, state or county system.License A valid California Class "C" Driver’s License with a clean driving record is required.Desired Qualifications The ideal candidate will demonstrate knowledge of the legislative process, relevant laws, evidence-based practices, and Superior Court operations.At least two (2) years of the required five (5) years of experience in a supervisory role equivalent or similar to what is described in Class 8434 / 8534 Supervising Adult Probation Officer.Compensation And Benefits The starting salary range for this position is $131,924 and $168,454, with higher appointments considered for exceptional qualifications or recruitment needs.
