The Mission of the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) is to protect and promote the health of all San Franciscans. Under the general direction of the Chief Experience Officer, the Manager of Inclusive Excellence and Staff Experience will lead the development and execution of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) and Workforce Experience strategies that align with ZSFG’s mission, promoting patient health equity and workforce diversity. The position will design and oversee initiatives that improve employee engagement, satisfaction, and well-being, ensuring a positive workplace culture. Collaboration is key to this position's success and requires building strong intra- and inter-departmental partnerships, working with leadership, HR, and stakeholders to integrate DEI principles into all areas of hospital operations.
The Manager of Inclusive Excellence and Staff Experience (0923 Manager II) performs the following essential job functions :
- Develops a workforce strategy of creating a diverse and inclusive climate to harness the power of diversity through innovative solutions.
- Plans and executes initiatives to eliminate racial disparities across health outcomes, care experience, and workforce development in ZSFG.
- Develops comprehensive diversity, equity and inclusion goals and objectives that address the Division's mission of achieving and sustaining racial equity.
- Implements ZSFG’s approved vision and strategic direction for diversity, racial equity and inclusion.
- Manages equity-focused strategies via operational and financial assessments of activities, co-facilitation of Equity Work Group, A3 status reports and summaries, performance improvement plans, and communication campaigns.
- Manages Care Experience operations and projects; supervises, trains and evaluates the activities of personnel.
- Monitors the work of staff and coaches to improve performance.
- Coordinates budget preparation, monitors expenditures and financial reporting for assigned section.
- Assists in developing and implementing operational policies to ensure the efficient operation of a section or program.
How to qualify
Required Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university,
Three (3) years of professional experience in program planning, policy development, and budget oversight.
EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION : Additional qualifying experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis for up to two (2) years.
