APPOINTMENT TYPE : Temporary Exempt : This position is excluded by the Charter from the competitive Civil Service examination process and shall serve at the discretion of the Appointing Officer. The duration of the appointment shall not exceed 36 months.
LOCATION : This position is located in Moccasin, CA, or Oakdale, CA in the Sierra Foothills approximately 140 miles east of San Francisco.

The Hetch Hetchy Operating Division is responsible for collecting and transmitting 80% of the drinking water consumed by the SFPUC’s 2.8 million water customers. The Division is also responsible for the hydroelectric generation and transmission to the SFPUC’s wholesale electric customers.
HHWP is currently hiring for the exempt positions below :
Renewal and Replacement Job Specialist
The 5602 position will serve as the Job Specialist over multiple HHWP R&R projects that were approved in the HHWP 10-year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). Responsibilities will include facilitation of the job scope development, preparing business justifications supporting the fiscal appropriations, preparing Project Management Plans, initiating and managing professional service and construction task orders, preparing weekly and monthly job status reports, overseeing construction and commissioning quality assurance, and thoroughly documenting completed projects through closeout processes.
Desired Qualifications : Experience in Construction or a related field.
Renewal & Replacement Construction Specialist
The 5602 position will serve as the Construction Specialist over multiple HHWP R&R projects that were approved in the HHWP 10-year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). Responsibilities include estimating, scheduling, and constructing multidisciplinary capital improvement projects within the Hetch Hetchy Water & Power Division.
Desired Qualifications : Experience in Construction or a related field.
Transmission Planning Specialist
The 5602 Transmission Planner performs professional planning, analysis, and studies to maintain the integrity and reliability of the SFPUC 115kV and 230kV electric transmission assets.
Desired Qualifications : B.S. Electrical Engineering or similar degree; experience with electric transmission planning activities.
Compliance Specialist
This position will manage Hetch Hetchy Water and Power’s WECC / NERC compliance programs.
Desired Qualifications : 2-3 years of experience with WECC / NERC compliance or 2-3 years of general knowledge of hydropower assets.

How to qualify
Education :
1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university preferably with major coursework in Law, Engineering, Environmental Studies, Natural Resources, Computer Science, Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or other field related to the utility business; AND
Experience :
2. Four years of verifiable journey-level work experience in one or more of the following areas : planning, scheduling, cost estimating and resource projecting for mid to large scale projects; water supply / infrastructure management and planning; power operations planning and scheduling; analysis, interpretation and application of utility contracts and regulations; or long-term utility systems planning.
Substitution : Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Desirable Qualifications : The stated desirable qualifications may be considered at the end of the selection process when candidates are referred for hiring.
