What are the responsibilities and job description for the Weld Mentor position at Container Research Corporation?
Container Research Corporation, an AS9100 certified company with over 65 years in business, seeks a weld mentor who will be responsible for training and assisting in the certification of all new hires in the welding department as well as recertification of tenured welders. The weld mentor will provide guidance and assistance to any welder who needs it based on the mentor's observations.
The right candidate will have.
- An expert level of welding knowledge, skills, and abilities
- 10 years of experience welding and fabricating
- Experience in a senior / lead / trainer role
- Proficiency in reading bluebrints
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on weld machines
- Experience welding to AWS D17.1 & D1.2 Aluminum standards.
- Experience welding to D1.1 & D1.2 Steel standards.
- The ability to pass Aluminum 2G and 3G .090 square groove GMAW welding qualification tests at the interview. Visually acceptable coupons will be submitted for RT.
- Upon hire the candidate will be expected to qualify on additional weld tests including but not limited to :
Aluminum 2G and 3G .090 square groove GTAW
