To better serve the global auto industry electric vehicle trend in the United States, CATL, through its U.S.-based subsidiary, CATK, is seeking a talented and experienced (Senior) IT Engineer to join our local team. As a (Senior) IT Engineer at CATK, you will play a critical role in managing and supporting various databases hosting critical applications. The ideal candidate will ensure the smooth installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of critical database including SAP Hana, PostgreSQL, OceanBase, Doris, MySQL, etc. with crucial applications, such as MES, LES, TOM, SPC, WMS, and so on, in on-premise and cloud environments. Also work with team to help analyze the performance or availability issues regarding business systems, such as MES, LES, TOM, SPC, and ERP.

Job Description
• Install and configure database including SAP Hana, PostgreSQL, OceanBase, MySQL, or other database, and ensure they are properly integrated with other IT infrastructure.
• Assist with the installation and setup of MES, LES, TOM, SPC, and other essential application systems and their related databases.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues database issues related to SAP Hana, PostgreSQL, OceanBase, MySQL , and other database, optimizing performance as needed.
• Monitor the operational status of MES, LES, TOM, SPC, WMS, and other application systems to ensure they are running efficiently.
• Manage the backup and recovery processes for the above databases and systems to prevent data loss.
• Install, configure and monitor database and application as fail-over or load balance architecture to support high availability, loading balance, performance scale-up or scale-out.
• Establish and drill disaster recovery or business continuity plan to prevent the data or business loss in case of adverse accidents.
• Patch the systems including database and related infrastructure based on vulnerabilities or bug-fix needs in minimized business impact.
• Monitor the performance and availability of databases or related system/software, addressing any issues that arise promptly.
• Conduct performance tuning and optimization for databases and systems to enhance efficiency.
• Quickly identify and resolve database and system faults to minimize downtime.
• Align and build database and application health governance mechanism. Set up with team the tools to monitor, measure the health of databases and alert the stakeholders; define and fine tune the processes or procedures of database administrations.
• Evaluate and plan for system resource requirements to ensure adequate capacity and scalability.
• Work in public cloud such as AWS, Azure, GCP or private deployed cloud environments and set up or advise the applications in physical server, virtual machine, and container environment including Docker, Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with other IT team members to support cross-functional projects and initiatives.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Automation, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
• Fast learning ability to new technology and different databases and applications key knowledge.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing databases, 3 years of experience in administrating applications in servers of Linux, Unix and Windows
• Proficiency in installing, configuring, and maintaining various database systems, including Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, Ocean Base, and Doris, SAP HANA is plus.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly resolve system and database issues.
• Experience in performance tuning and optimization of both databases and application systems.
• Knowledge of backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity plan, drill and practice.
• Ability to evaluate system resource needs and plan for future capacity.
• Familiarity with distributed databases and modern database management practices.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of working with cross-functional teams with diversified culture and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• The ability to maintain a full-time work schedule with regular in-person attendance is required for this position.
• Ability to interact professionally with individuals of varied backgrounds and skill level.
