This permanent opportunity offers $48,000-$58,000 annually based on experience! The Capacity Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring seamless transportation solutions by collaborating with carriers to secure reliable capacity. This position is responsible for supporting customer growth and satisfaction, optimizing operational efficiency, and driving profitability by securing competitive market pricing while maintaining high service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and secure carrier capacity to meet customer requirements, ensuring on-time and efficient transportation solutions.
- Build and maintain operational relationships with carriers to guarantee consistent service and competitive pricing.
- Work closely with internal teams, including Capacity Development, Business Development, and Customer Experience, to maximize opportunities and improve service offerings.
- Proactively communicate with carriers and customers to address any changes or issues, escalating as needed to maintain service levels.
- Utilize and adapt to new technologies to enhance productivity, expedite load coverage, and streamline processes.
- Monitor market conditions and share insights with the team to protect existing business and win new opportunities.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and best practices.
- Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent industry training/experience.
- 1–3 years of experience in freight brokerage, 3PL, transportation, or supply chain management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with carrier management systems.
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to manage time-sensitive situations and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Participation in a departmental on-call rotation, which includes after-hours and weekend support.
