Contemporary Staffing Solutions (CSS) is seeking a Corporate Tax Manager to join our client for a hybrid opportunity in Sarasota, FL! This permanent opportunity offers $120,000-$145,000/year with a bonus! This role is responsible for managing a team of tax professionals, ensuring timely and accurate filing of federal and state income tax returns, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and review of federal and state income tax filings for the company and its subsidiaries.
- Supervise and provide guidance to the tax team on quarterly estimates, extensions, and annual provision calculations.
- Assign and prioritize responsibilities to ensure all deadlines are met with accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct detailed reviews of state apportionment and modification calculations.
- Collaborate with accounting teams and third-party advisors to facilitate data collection and ensure accurate tax filings.
- Respond to federal and state audit requests, providing appropriate documentation and analysis.
- Reconcile corporate tax accounts for financial reporting purposes, ensuring activity and balances align.
- Conduct tax research and participate in special projects, including implementing tax strategies to optimize compliance and financial outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (CPA certification is highly preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of corporate income tax experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in both public accounting and in-house corporate tax is a plus.
- Proficiency in tax reporting software and advanced knowledge of MS Excel. Familiarity with SAP or Oracle is desirable.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
