This position supports the legal team with case management, document preparation, and client communications within the Workers' Compensation practice. The ideal candidate will help manage a fast-paced caseload, maintain organized files, and ensure smooth communication with attorneys, clients, and external parties, contributing to streamlined operations within the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Download, upload, and manage documents using the Workers’ Compensation Automation and Integration System (WCAIS).
- Organize and maintain electronic case files, including opening new matters and ensuring up-to-date case details.
- File and manage documents in the document management system.
- Act as a backup for other Legal Assistants within the department, providing assistance as needed.
- Prepare legal documents based on digital dictation and other sources, ensuring accuracy and adherence to format requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of legal assistant experience.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to take initiative and manage multiple tasks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
- Familiarity using electronic document management systems.
- Ability to type 50-60 words per minute with accuracy.
