The Position: Digital Merchandising Specialist
Contender Bicycles is in search of a talented individual who possesses an ability to capture the unique ambiance of a bike shop and translate it to an e-commerce site through great organization and thoroughness helping manage a growing e-commerce site. As a Digital Merchandising Specialist in a small ecommerce and marketing team, you will play a crucial role in helping manage a growing e-commerce site. Being a cycling enthusiast is a must!
Responsibilities
- Assist in management and maintenance of day-to-day running of an e-commerce site
- Product creation which includes basic copywriting
- Maintain online catalogs
- Perform web research for price comparison on inventory items
- Assist in content creation & advertising across multiple marketing platforms
- Extract and analyze data across multiple channels
- Internal and external office communication including email and task management software
- Customer service from contacts made through e-commerce site and social media platforms
- Process e-commerce customer orders and returns/defective items
- Work the sales floor during special events and high load times
Requirements
- Prior marketing, e-commerce or related experience a plus
- Experience formatting and working with data in HTML
- Experience with Excel, Google sheets
- Basic understanding of SEO
- Knowledge of Social Media platforms
- Can easily learn POS and Shopify software
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
- Basic copywriting and editing skills with a focus on translating technical highlights of products
- Must understand product information
- Great communication, organizational and time management skills
- Have a proven history of being a reliable, hard worker
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Previous retail experience a bonus but not required
- Positive attitude and a passion for cycling
- Must be a problem solver and a doer
