The Position: Operations Assistant

Well look no further, Contender Bicycles, a full service bicycle shop in the heart of Salt Lake City with a sister location in Park City and an ever growing online footprint, might be the place for you. We are currently looking for an energetic and experienced operations assistant ready to be value added members of the Contender team. Applicants must be ready to bring all their experience to the table on day one to help meet the challenges that come with aggressive growth and face adversity with honesty, integrity and enthusiasm.
Accepting full-time and part-time applicants. The position requires working at least 20 hrs hours during our off-season (October through February) and 30 hours during our busy season (March through September) for part-time applicants.
Responsibilities
- Be able to lift 50lbs
- Receive and inventory daily shipments and tag product accurately and efficiently
- Process and manage customer Special Orders
- Merchandise and stock product
- Pick, process, package, and ship product.
- Process transfers between stores and warehouse.
- 21 or older in order to drive company vehicle
- Report any discrepancies with inventory
- Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
- Maintain an organized and clean stockroom, warehouse and shipping/receiving area
- Maintain product flow of back stocked items to sales floor
- Perform physical inventory counts
- Work the sales floor during special events and high load times
- Assist Operations Manager with other tasks and projects
Requirements
- Computer Skills: Excel, Word, email, and can easily learn POS software
- Great communication skills
- Great organizational and time management skills
- Have a proven history of being a reliable, hard worker
-Ability to "be a sponge," and quickly learn new information
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Previous retail experience a bonus but not required
- Positive attitude and a passion for cycling
- Must be a problem solver and a doer
Must pass post-offer, pre-employment background check.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
