Position Description
We are looking for a Warehouse Driver/Associate to join the Warehouse team. Success in this role may open the doors to many opportunities for advancement within the company!
As a key member of the Warehouse team, the Warehouse Driver/Associate will report to the Director of Operations and assume a critical role in delivering and processing material at our warehouse in order to meet our customer deadlines. The Warehouse Driver/Associate is accountable for delivering materials to different construction job sites, staging, fabricating, shipping/receiving, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment at the warehouse.
Position Key Criteria/Requirements
- Safe driving record
- Valid driver’s license
- Can pass a drug test & have/can get a DOT medical card.
- 2 years of experience driving a 20’ or larger box in Boston or another major city (CDL License Drivers are encouraged to apply!)
- Some degree of mechanical aptitude (working with hand tools & awareness of mechanical truck issues)
- At least 2 years average job tenure over the past 5 years
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Good verbal and written English communication skills.
Position Measurable Accountabilities
- Complete the safety checklist daily & report any safety hazards.
- Follow vehicle policies & state traffic/parking laws 100%
- No negligent/reckless incidents or accidents, noise pollution, or complaints about unsafe driving
- Punctual – arrive at the job site at least 5 minutes before the scheduled stop.
- Correct materials & tools on the truck
- No unscheduled stops or riders
- Material is not damaged in transit – in truck securely.
- Most efficient route taken based on destination and time of day – requires coordination.
- Help unload the truck – get material from the truck to the installer or sidewalk.
- Complete the job costing sheet daily.
- Signature on the delivery slip, a picture, and text to the Project Manager before the next delivery
- Shipping/Receiving, inspecting ingoing/outgoing orders for accuracy, shelving, staging, sweeping, breaking down boxes, inventory management, organizing the warehouse, etc.
- Report mechanical/service issues to the Field Operations Manager immediately.
- Keep the interior of the truck clean
- Use the correct vehicle for the job (small delivery - small vehicle)
- Follow attendance policy 100% & get a response as early as possible if calling out.
Position Key Technical Competencies
- Basic computer skills, including data entry.
- Grammar and phone etiquette
- Ability to safely operate a forklift.
- Microsoft Office (excel, word and outlook)
