Are you ready to shape the future with us?THE POSITIONLead Staff Mechanical Engineer, Continental Autonomous Mobility US, LLC, Carpinteria, CA : Use computer-assisted design technology to create automotive grade product design. Review and release technical outputs (drawings and 3D models) for specific automotive technologies, including die cast parts, injection molding, sheet metal, in accordance with Automotive PLC (Product Life Cycle). Create, coordinate and track project activities and plans for mechanical projects. Analyze and interpret reports related to structural and thermal simulation and measurements. Modify existing design using reverse engineering and bench marking. Offer engineering support and provide expertise to achieve better cost, quality, reliability and manufacturing results. Responsible for handling and processing all project-related data according to company procedures to create realizations orders and track issues. Review customer requirements, plan and perform test cases.Telecommuting permitted up to 40% per week.Full time employment, Monday Friday, 40 hours per week. $160,618.00 - $196,290.00 per year.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS : Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering or a related field, plus 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate, related work experience.Must have 5 years of experience in each of the following : Designing automotive parts, including plastic components, sheet metal, connectors and press fit pins;CATIA or CAD;Mechanical part design and manufacturing methods, including stamping, plastic injections mold, machine process or rapid prototyping;GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) standards and tolerance calculation to create engineering drawings;FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis);PDM (product data management) tools (including Wise or SAP); andBOMs (bill of materials).Must have 2 years of experience in each of the following : Managing mechanical projects; andPerforming and analyzing Structural FEA Simulations.International travel required up to 5%.
