Description
Drives company-owned vehicle over established route to deliver and sell products or render services. Regularly contacts customers, finds new customers in proximity to existing client base. Replenishes items in pantries, on shelves, end caps, racks or display units and handles all product merchandising, sets up point of purchase materials, promotional signs, and arranges products in a way that contributes to higher volume usage.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Drives truck to existing customer place of business and delivers product to designated point of receipt. To include; loading dock (direct delivery), client receiving location (customer direct), and designated office coffee pantries (pantry direct).
- Verifies all product ordered is received by the client. Records transaction on appropriate delivery tickets and/or electronic devices. Ensures clients acknowledges receipt by signing electronically (hand-held device) or on delivery ticket.
- Introduces customers to new products and services, in addition to company promotions; listens to and resolves service complaints at assigned accounts.
- Fills designated office pantry locations to proper inventory levels with such items as soft drinks, coffee, cups, condiments, and snack items; responsible for proper handling of perishable food products. (All cold food and milk products must be kept refrigerated at all times.)
- Places stock in cabinets, on shelves, coffee racks, or in designated coolers. Rotating product to ensure first-in and first-out product utilization.
- Selects items from warehouse and loads truck each day; prepares order forms for all necessary products for assigned route.
- Accountable for all receipt of goods, invoice or delivery ticket, cash received or collect, and products issued.
- Informs regular customers of new products or services; listens to and resolves service complaints; sets up merchandise and sales promotion displays or issues sales promotion materials to customers.
- Performs routine maintenance on and sanitation of office coffee and water equipment; conducts minor repairs and adjustments on machines such as; water filter exchanges, adjusting flow meters, clean brewer sprayer-head, de-liming brew valve, and replacing small machine components. Reports all out of service equipment to designated maintenance repair service operators or technician dispatcher.
- Unload and clean trash from delivery vehicle, perform daily vehicle operative checks, report vehicle problems to the proper parties, secure keys and vehicle.
- Ensures a safe work environment; performs job safely. Reports any unsafe acts or work conditions to the appropriate route sales manager.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Job Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to be conscientious, diplomatic, detail-oriented and comfortable working in a structured environment.
- Lift up to 50 lbs
