MAINTENANCE APPRENTICE – Beatrice, NE

Continental Carbonic is looking for a skilled Maintenance Apprentice in our Beatrice, NE location. * Our Maintenance Apprentice will be responsible for providing support to achieve optimal levels of productivity, quality, and safety within the Maintenance Department. Starting Wage: $20/hour depending on qualifications/experience. *

Typical hours are 7AM to 3:30PM, Monday - Friday

Responsibilities:

• Track incoming maintenance freight items
• Document and receive all maintenance freight while adding to the inventory management system
• Track parts used, while updating inventory management system
• Assist Maintenance Technicians, as directed by Maintenance Manager, with production equipment (in safe, optimal operating conditions) to help ensure the protection of all plant employees and visitors
• Assist with production equipment which may include blueprints, technical manuals, or other vendor specifications. File as necessary via hard copy or electronic system.
• Assist as directed, by the Maintenance Manager, with new production equipment
• Understand, follow, and maintain proper records for Process Safety Management procedures and requirements
• Document any equipment changeovers and update files as necessary
• Notify management of any potential equipment issues or other noted abnormalities if observed
• Assist management in training manufacturing employees in the proper use of equipment, as directed by Maintenance Manager
• Maintain organization of Maintenance Repair and Maintenance Mezzanine Area, or any other areas as directed
• Assist coworkers with production or other tasks as directed by Maintenance Manager

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required; any other related certifications or training is a plus.
• Computer skills include MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
• Inventory management skillset or experience a plus
• Experience with hydraulics, screw compressors, mechanics, electrical systems and troubleshooting PLC’s a plus
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, and work in tight spaces in and around machinery
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
