Primary Purpose of your Job Position
The primary purpose of your job position is to plan, organize, develop, coordinate, and direct our infection control program its activities in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern such programs, and as many be directed by the Administrator and the Infection Control Committee to ensure that an effective infection control program is maintaned at at all times. As Staff Coordinator you will provide necessrary educational and learning opportunities within a supportive environment that will assist personnel in gaining knoweledge, skills and attitudes neessary to perform assignd duties safely and effectivly.

Job Tasks
As Infection Control Nurse, you will be responsible for the following tasks :
Plan, develop, organize, implem,ent, evaluate, coordinate, and direct our infection contorl program in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern such requriements in nursing care facilities.
Ensure that the facility is in compliance with current CDC, OSHA, and local regulations concerning infection control or standard / universal precautions.
Devleop, maintain, and periodically update infection control precautions and aseptic technique that successfully correct problem areas.
Interpret infection control polices and procedures as necessary
Maintain a reference library of written infection control materal that will assist the facility in meeting the day-today needs of the isolated resident.
Make written and oral reports / recommendationis to the Administraor, as necssary / required, concerning the infection control program of this facility.
Assist all departments in evaluating and classifying routine and job-related functions to ensure that taks involving exposrue to blood / body fluies are properly identified.
P rovides necessary educational and learning opportunities within a supportive environment that will assist personnel in gaining knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to perform assigned duties safely and effectively.
Responsible for coordinating and developing learning experiences that support quality care consistent with standards, policies and procedures of the facility.
Assures all necessary mandatory education required by regulatory standards are available for facility staff; track attendance.
Coordinates the Nursing Assistant Certification Program in accordance with state long-term care requirements as needed .
Coordinates and actively participates in facility orientation of licensed and non-licensed staff . Solicits involvement of other departmental employees as preceptors and mentors.
R esponsible forevaluating, planning and directing the Infection Prevention and Control Program for the facility in collaboration with the facility Interdisciplinary Team .
M onitor ing the activities of nursing personnel to ensure quality care that complies with state, federal, local, and facility standards.
Maintain current employee health files on all staff members to assure compliance with all relevant regulations.
Obtain consent and administer vaccines to staff / residents as needed.
Monitor and ensure licensed staff maintain current licensure and CPR certification, where required .
This is a full time salary position. Beneifts will begin the 1st day of the month following employment. PTO available after 90 days of employment. 401k available after 6 months.
