Job description
Assist in coordinating and supervising the execution of all banquet and event functions. Ensure that customer requirements and specs are adhered to and that functions run smoothly, efficiently and profitably. Execute all assigned functions as stated in BEO to meet or exceed customer expectations and full satisfaction.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Regularly review all upcoming events BEO’s or function sheets and have thorough understanding of all requirements on upcoming scheduled events.
- For each assigned event, confirm client’s final arrangements on BEO or function sheet. Obtain all specifications and pertinent information concerning the event, including but not limited to number attending, schedule of events and menu.
- As appropriate, provide catering staff with the details of each function sheet so they gain a thorough understanding of event specifications prior to the function.
- Requisition or obtain equipment and supplies needed for each event, ensuring that they meet customer expectations and requirements.
- Inspect event room prior to the start of each function – check room setup, menu, service staff, etc. conforms to BEO or function sheet.
- Greet customers prior to the start of each function and be present throughout the event to assist where needed.
- Continually observe, direct and assist staff where necessary during the entire event. Ensure that all the details as per the functions sheet are performed.
- Direct and supervise breakdown and cleanup after the event. Account for all equipment and supplies. Return equipment to storage areas. Return or arrange for return of rented materials.
- Assist in training, supervising and disciplining catering staff.
- Continually strive to develop your staff in all areas of operational and professional development.
- Assist Banquet Manager in fulfilling all their job duties, prepared to fill in for their position as necessary during their absence.
Qualifications:
- Have knowledge of service and food and beverage, generally involving at least two years of banquet/event positions and/or front-of-the-house restaurant experience.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).

Salary: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
