We are actively seeking a Roughneck at Continental Drilling & Service located in Shreveport, Louisiana that would be responsible for assisting drilling crew members with day-to-day operations on the drilling rig, as well as working at the yard to ensure everything is clean and organized. Job duties are as described below:
- Perform manual labor and operate equipment on job sites and Continental’s yard as directed by supervisor
- Assist driller with drilling rig operations including general maintenance, tripping pipe, and running casing
- Mix drilling mud as instructed on drill sites
- Constantly communicate with supervision on issues, changes, and specific needs for executing assigned tasks
- Ensure compliance of company policies and standards are always followed
- Ensure facility and work is executed to the highest standard and is done safely and compliantly
A qualified applicant must posses the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Basic understanding of water well drilling
- Great organizational skills
- Mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Excellent and clear communication to safely and efficiently complete job tasks
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Use hands or fingers; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
- The noise level is usually moderate to high
- Working outdoors in elements/weather
- Overnight travel will be minimal under normal operational conditions.
