Continental Finance Company interns get real-life exposure to the daily duties of their prospected department. They spend the summer as a valued member of their respective team, learning business skills and assisting with a variety of projects that have an impact on the business operations. An additional focus of the program will be to complete a final project that will be an overview of activities, tasks, and experiences throughout the 10-week program.
Essential Functions:
- Work with team members in a high-growth Fintech compliance program by working on several projects to support compliance audit/monitoring activities, complaint management, vendor risk management, and business continuity activities.
- Work cross-functionally with Legal, Information Security, Operations, Compliance, and Risk
- Review potential policy/procedure breaches and escalations to identify themes and create recommendations to increase efficiency or adhere to regulatory requirements more effectively.
- Perform compliance testing/auditing activities to meet regulatory requirements.
- Develop working knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, compliance standards and business practices within a corporate setting.
- Use analytical skills to evaluate risk related to the Company’s controls across all lines of business.
- Complete reports and summary of projects fulfilled weekly.
- Meet with a mentor daily to discuss projects, reports, and questions.
- Support the department and Company by providing innovative ideas, solutions, and an outside perspective.
This is a paid position for undergraduates and is located in Wilmington, Delaware.
***CFC offers a hybrid work schedule which includes three (3) core days in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) and two (2) remote workdays (Monday and Friday)***
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Currently enrolled in and working towards an undergraduate degree. Open to all majors
- Available to work 40 hours/week (hybrid) for 10-week summer assignment.
- Currently enrolled in 4-year accredited university
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong oral, written and team communication skills.
- Demonstrated skills in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong customer service aptitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
