The Assistant Production Supervisor supports the Production Supervisor in overseeing manufacturing processes to ensure optimal production efficiency and quality. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as a thorough understanding of production workflows and safety protocols. The Assistant Production Supervisor will help coordinate activities across various teams, ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
2nd shift hours are 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. Monday to Thursday
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Assist the Production Supervisor in planning and executing daily production schedules to meet operational goals.
- Support the training and development of packaging line employees, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Packaging Line Lead to monitor production activities, identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective solutions.
- Act as a point of contact for team members, helping to resolve operational challenges and facilitate open communication.
- Maintain documentation related to production metrics, quality checks, and safety compliance.
- Conduct regular audits of production processes and equipment to ensure adherence to quality control standards.
- Facilitate communication between departments, such as quality control and logistics, to optimize production flow and address issues proactively.
- Assist in the evaluation of team performance, providing feedback and support to improve individual and team productivity.
- Foster a positive work environment by promoting team collaboration and adherence to company values.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the overall operations of the facility.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant post-secondary education or training is advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with a preference for roles involving leadership or oversight.
- Familiarity with production machinery and quality control requirements is a plus.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, are required.
