Salary Information : $18.04 - 33.46 / Hourly
Who We Are
Continental Maritime of San Diego, a Titan company, is a certified Master Ship Repair Contractor for the U.S. Navy. Our skilled professionals have performed hundreds of ship repairs for the Navy and Military Sealift Command. CMSD does repair on all types of major surface vessels including CVN, CG, and DDG, and all types of amphibious ships including LHD, LHA, LSD, LPD, and auxiliary ships. Our work also includes repairs and alterations to a wide range of Combatant, Hull, Mechanical and Electrical, and Habitability Systems.
Position Specifics
Continental Maritime of San Diego is currently seeking an Outside Machinist 3 to help support our operations. The Outside Machinist 3 is responsible for the overhaul, alignment, and adjustment of machinery equipment in place onboard ship; cut, shape, and drill various materials; assemble and disassemble mechanical parts according to technical manuals; clean and preserve parts; perform related tasks as assigned, some of which may become essential to the position.
Minimum Requirements
- Working knowledge of ship layout
- Trained in machine shop equipment, alignment process, and blueprint reading
- Ability to use hand tools and measuring devices
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Must be able to access and move around ship safely
- Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in required
- The ability to obtain a DBIDS credential is required
- Must be able to work 1st & 2nd shift
