Job Summary
The Production Tech is responsible for oil and gas well operations, well testing, troubleshooting and maintenance. The Production Tech II demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of surface and downhole production equipment through increased troubleshooting and problem-solving. This position will work closely with Production Engineers, Production Foremen, Workover Foremen and Lease Operators serves as a resource within the assigned work area.
Performs a wide variety of tasks; contributes to process improvements. Acts as a resource for team members with less experience. Thorough working knowledge of technical/specialized tasks and responsibilities. Relies on experience and exercises independent judgment to determine best approach to achieve desired outcomes. Works under general supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain compliance with company HSE policies and demonstrate the ability to respond quickly and confidently to safety and environmental events
Requires the operation of Company vehicles. Must drive safely to and from wells and well sites, maintain a clean driving record and adhere to Company policies
Possess the right and obligation to stop work if unsafe conditions exist
Troubleshoot wells while optimizing production
Supervise the optimization of wells and trains operators to address technical issues
Verify that SCADA and XSPOC systems communicate appropriately, program and maintain POC/VFD/VSD, and address and fix communication glitches on automation equipment
Demonstrate intermediate knowledge of programming and optimization of all artificial lift types
Communicate with the Workover and Production groups on down wells, electricians, and chemical applications
Demonstrate knowledge of chemical program and treatment planning
Assist engineers with analysis of pump tear downs, dyno card interpretation, dynomometer testing, pump efficiency and downhole equipment
Demonstrate downhole knowledge and recommend equipment changes and design improvements

Required Qualifications
High School Diploma (or GED).
Minimum of 4 years combined Lease Operator and industry experience.
Ability to pass a respiratory fit test.
Valid Driver’s License.
An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.
Preferred Qualifications
Housing withing 50 miles of the area of operations.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stoop, stand, walk, pull, carry instruments, and climb stairs and ladders for extended period of time.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
Ability to work overhead for extended periods of time.
Ability to perform fine manipulations with hands and fingers.
Capable of driving distances of 150 miles or more per day during all types of weather conditions
Ability to one arm carry up to 25lbs. without assistance.
Regular bending, crouching, pulling, and kneeling to check equipment and gauges.
Must be able to exert up to 50lbs. of force occasionally and up to 20lbs. frequently to move or manipulate objects.
Ability to work significant amounts of time as required in completing job responsibilities.
Working environment includes exposure to extremely loud noises in field, hazardous Chemicals, and Hydrocarbons that may be under extreme pressure for which appropriate safety measures are required.
Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
