Continental Tide is seeking motivated, energetic entry-level candidates interested in the dynamic environment of U.S. Navy Ship repair. Candidates must possess a technical school certificate, and the ability to secure a Security Credential. Desired applicants possess experience with SMAW and FCAW methods, as well as a strong work ethic, dedication, and aspiration to excel.
Continental Tide supports our forces around the globe. Work sites include: Virginia Beach, VA; San Diego, CA; Seattle, WA, Honolulu Hi; Yokosuka, Japan; Gaeta, Italy; Rota, Spain and many others. A willingness to travel, strong communication skills and the ability to work in teams is a must.

Required Experience
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Familiar in joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques.
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process. Must be able to select required welding filler materials, joint design, heat ranges and most effective or required welding process/procedure to ensure quality welding operations IAW TWD.
- Inspect completed welds to determine structural soundness and adherence to standards.
- Experienced in SMAW and FCAW. Able to weld multiple types, thicknesses & sizes of plate & bar material in horizontal, overhead and/or vertical positions. Possess basic and some advanced specialized welder's tools.
- Must possess a high school, trade or vocational school degree.
- Ability to read and interpret installation drawings, installation specifications and NAVSEA Standard Items is preferred.
- Must have or have the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.
- Must have the ability to obtain base access and security credentials.
- Ability to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs.
- Ability to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces.
- Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
- Due to export control regulations, this role is open to U.S. citizens only.
- Candidate must be able to walk, stand for long periods of time, sit, bend, stretch, reach, squat and twist
- Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs.
- Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces.
- Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
- Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels.
