Job Description :

Continental Tide Defense System is currently looking for a Human Resources Manager to join our team. The HR Manager provides strategic and hands-on support for the HR function in the areas of onboarding, employee relations, compliance, immigration, benefits, compensation, and training in a fast-paced, evolving research environment.

What you will do : As a Human Resources Manager, you will play a pivotal role in our organization's success by managing the human capital that drives it. This position will be responsible for a wide range of functions, including employee onboarding, training and development, performance management, compensation and benefits administration, employee relations, and compliance with labor laws and regulations. As an HR expert, you will ensure that the workplace is conducive to productivity and growth by fostering a positive work environment, serving and a mentor and role model, resolving conflicts, and promoting diversity and inclusion. You will hold a crucial position in crafting and implementing HR policies and procedures that align with the company's strategic goals and values. In essence, you will be the architect of a company's workforce, working diligently to attract, retain, and nurture talent while ensuring that the organization remains compliant and ethically sound. This multifaceted role is instrumental in driving organizational success and fostering a thriving and engaged workforce.

Job Description :

As the Human Resource Manager at Continental Tide, you will be a strategic partner in managing our most valuable asset - our people. Your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to :

Employee Relations :

  • Handling employee relations matters with professionalism and sensitivity, resolving conflicts, and promoting a positive work environment.
  • Conducting investigations and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Promoting open communication and feedback channels between employees and management.

Performance Management :

  • Developing and implementing performance appraisal systems to evaluate employee performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Assisting in the development of performance improvement plans and career development initiatives.
  • Compensation and Benefits :

  • Managing compensation and benefits programs, including salary reviews, bonuses, and employee benefits packages.
  • Ensuring that our compensation structure remains competitive and compliant with industry standards.
  • Compliance :

  • Staying up to date with labor laws and regulations to ensure company-wide compliance.
  • Developing and implementing HR policies and procedures to align with legal requirements and company values.
  • Training and Development :

  • Identifying training needs and coordinating employee development programs.
  • Promoting a culture of continuous learning and career growth.
  • HR Strategy :

  • Collaborating with senior management to develop and execute HR strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Providing insights and recommendations to improve HR processes and practices.
  • Required Skills and Experience :

    Required Skills / Abilities :

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources.
  • Proven experience in human resources management, with a minimum of 6 years in a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Professional HR certifications (e.g., SHRM, HRCI) are a plus.
  • Training or experience in federal, state laws, and application or HR policy in a Manufacturing environment a plus.
  • Knowledge of administrative tasks and responsibilities.
  • Problem-solving / analytical skills and resourceful thinking.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with word, power point and excel.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations QuickBooks systems.
  • Computer skills, including data entry, data processing, communication tools and payroll and human resources software.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
