Job Description
- Visually inspect finished tires to assure quality specifications are met prior to shipping to customers
- Responsible for inspecting finished tires, identifying and marking defects, and classifying defects
- Responsible for handling tires and rerouting to correct area
- Inspection may cover safe launch, dock audits, visual inspectors, and sorting activities
- Support internal and/or PPS product audit if necessary
- Perform dock audits on outgoing shipments
- Perform sorting of quality hold tires in finished goods warehouse
- Read specifications, use hand tools and gauging devices to monitor current and ongoing product quality
- React quickly to quality issues, equipment downtime, or other extraordinary condition and notify supervision whenever such conditions occur
- Follow standard practices and perform all work necessary to promptly and accurately obtain quality and quantity production
- Follow plant policies, safety policies, environmental policies, and keep work area(s) neat, clean, and orderly
- Must be able to receive and follow written and oral instructions as to specs, procedures, tolerances, and various construction and quality requirements
- Must be able to pass titmus eye exam with or without corrective lenses
- Must have basic computer, Microsoft Excel, and problem-solving skills
- Must have component knowledge, accuracy, and strong communication skills
- Follow the internal ESH work instructions in the daily work
- Demonstrate exemplary personal behavior in ESH and motivate others
- Ensure immediate notification and response, and initiate preventive measures in case of unsafe or polluting hazards
- Support the Continental Business System (CBS ) structure by participating in the applicable CBT meeting, reviewing and managing his/her/team performance, conducting simple problem-solving using action sheets, identifying and implementing improvement opportunities, participating in the CBT reviews, and taking ownership for presented parts of the team boards
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- One or more years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Must be able to work 12 hour 2-2-3 pattern (panama) shift 6:45-7:00 (can be either days or nights) including every other weekend
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Continental is not able to offer visa support
- Continental is not able to pay relocation expenses for this opportunity
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous quality or inspection experience
- Associates degree
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
