Job Title: General Maintenance Associate
We are seeking a skilled General Maintenance Associate to join our team at ContiTech, a division of Continental.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting equipment in the plant, performing routine checks, and ensuring machinery and mechanical equipment are in good working order.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot equipment in the plant
- Routine check of equipment throughout the plant
- Keep machinery and mechanical equipment in good repair using knowledge of the equipment
- Assist in layout work regarding machine installation, relocation or modification
- Hoist inspection
- Fire inspection
- Perform preventive maintenance as assigned
- Repair parts using shop equipment or replace parts from supply
- Limited welding using oxyacetylene and arc welders
Requirements:
- Lift Truck Operator License
- Ability to stand for 100% of the workday, climb 80%, crawl 75%, sit NA, move material 100%, and hear/speak with supervision, section leaders, and coworkers
- Color vision required with normal vision to perform job properly
- Typical tools, instruments, and equipment include hand and power tools, welders, torches, measuring tools, electrical testing equipment, saws, aerial platform, hydraulic press, forktruck, lathe, mill, cutters, degreasing station, pipe threader, ladders, and grinders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in relevant field
- Computer literacy with knowledge of SAP, Lotus Notes, and Microsoft Access 97
- Ability to work with/around chemicals
- Good understanding of mechanical equipment
- Prioritize, ascertain, and react to situations efficiently
- Absorb training on safe work practices and use of protective equipment and comprehend material safety data sheets
- Certification to operate platform lift and confined space permit
- Flexibility to work various shifts
