Job Summary:
Accountable for the lifecycle project management of multiple complex projects that impact multiple functional areas. Assembles and leads the project Core Team through the development, execution, monitoring, controlling and close out project phases. Identifies, secures, coordinates and coaches internal and external resources necessary to manage the project and meet the objectives. Proactively engages with project Governance and key stakeholders ensuring appropriate communications occur. Provides detailed and accurate status reporting on safety, cost and schedule performance. Resolves project issues with contractors and other stakeholders that may impede successful execution of project activities. Ensures compliance with internal and external regulations. Develops and implements improvements to CPC project management processes, procedures, and guidelines to ensure consistently high-quality performance results. Works independently with guidance from Director of Capital Projects. Conducts daily work in compliance with safety policies and procedures. Demonstrates core values of Safety, Personal Integrity, Respect, Innovation and Teamwork in completing work assignments.
Responsibilities:
Leads the project core team and is accountable for all aspects of the development and execution of the project throughout the project lifecycle in accordance with project management processes, procedures and tools.
o Accountable for project success ensuring the project team develops, monitors and controls the scope, schedule, cost, quality and performance requirements.
o Ensures Project Charter has been developed and approved.
o Leads the development of the governance structure and requirements for the project.
o Leads the development of the core team roles and responsibilities, adjusting and communicating as appropriate.
o Leads and manages the project core team throughout all stages of the project.
o Manages team member performance and adjusts as necessary.
o Leads the development of the scope of work, project execution plan, acceptance criteria, and other project plans and documents.
Responsible for leading core team meetings and other project related meetings as needed.
Responsible for providing regular project status reports that include information on safety performance, scope changes, budget performance, schedule performance, and upcoming milestones.
o Leads development of the stage gate (and funding) approval documents and is accountable for obtaining appropriate approval.
o Maintains the set of records that support project decisions, approvals, changes, and other important project documents.
o Accountable for ensuring the Pre Startup Safety Review and Management of Change (MOC) processes are accomplished.
O Coordinates the closing of the project with Accounting and other CPC departments.
o Accountable for facilitating and capturing Lessons Learned throughout the project that includes uploading to the appropriate repository.
o Supports commercial team in representing with external partners.
· Support Director in the reviewing, updating and management of project management processes, procedures and tools. 10%
· Support and lead project management initiatives as identified and assigned.
