Overnight Caregiver Position - Continuum Home Health Care

Location: Wyoming, MI and surrounding areas

Schedule: Full time, Night shift, every other weekend (start times between 7 and 8 pm every day, done by 7am)

Pay Rate: Starting at $20/hr (increases based on experience)

At Continuum Home Health Care, we provide compassionate, high-quality care that allows seniors and individuals with specialized needs to remain in the comfort of their own homes. We're seeking a dedicated overnight caregiver to join our team and provide essential support to a new client.

Position Overview:We are currently seeking a Home Health Aide who is passionate about helping others and committed to enhancing the quality of life for our clients. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, providing companionship, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide attentive overnight care and monitoring for client safety and comfort
• Assist with toileting needs and managing personal hygiene throughout the night
• Administer prescribed medications according to schedule and maintain accurate documentation
• Perform position changes every 2-3 hours to prevent pressure sores and ensure comfort
• Respond promptly to client needs or emergencies during nighttime hours
• Monitor vital signs as directed by care plan
• Prepare light meals or snacks if needed during overnight hours
• Maintain a clean, safe sleeping environment
• Document all care activities, observations, and any concerns in client's care log
• Communicate effectively with day shift caregivers/family during handover
• Alert supervisor and family members of any significant changes in client condition

Qualifications:

• CNA, HHA, or equivalent certification preferred
• 1 year experience in home health care or similar setting
• Experience with overnight care
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and emergency procedures
• Excellent communication skills
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to maintain a consistent sleep schedule to remain alert during overnight hours
• CPR and First Aid certification
