Horticultural Technician
Location: Kissimmee, Florida Area
A Horticultural Technician requires proven horticulture skills and a commitment to providing quality service and satisfaction of the customer. Successful accomplishment requires setting a positive example of behaviors, personal appearance, attitude, and a good work ethic. This is a direct report position in the Davenport/ Kissimmee area.
Responsibilities include:
- Assuring prompt response to all customer requests and telephone communications.
- Providing quality assurance to discover deficiencies and solve prior to the customers involvement.
- Participating in any training courses.
- Requesting materials as required keeping inventory to a minimum.
- Coordinating proper applications of all fertilizers and pesticides.
- Keeping an account of all materials.
- Maintaining accurate inventory of equipment and tools.
- Completing the vehicle inspection sheet weekly and submitting it to the shop supervisor.
Requirements:
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- Pass a Background Screening
- Pass a Drug Screening
- A minimum of 2 Years Horticulture experience
- Proper care and use of equipment including OSHA safety regulations
- Knowledge and use of commonly used pesticides and other chemicals
- Knowledge of quality expectations in horticulture operations
- Must demonstrate the ability to diagnose problems and select proper application methods in regard to ornamental and lawn spray techniques
- Must be client oriented, perform high quality technically proficient work and good communication skills both verbally and written
- Operations and calibration of power spray rig, fertilizer spreaders, etc.
- Must have strong self-motivational and organizing skills
