Home & Community Support department has a fantastic opportunity for a
Music Therapist
to perform credentialed therapeutic in-home one-on-one music therapy services for children and adults that have been diagnosed with an intellectual and / or developmental disability that we serve. This therapy includes playing, creating, singing, moving with and / or listening to music as a therapeutic tool for the habilitation, rehabilitation and maintenance of behavioral, developmental, physical, social, communication, pain management, cognition and gross motor skills.
Due to the nature of the role and our commitment to the community and the individuals and families we serve, well require some flexibility due to appointments and responsibilities that occur outside typical work week hours. You must be willing to drive to appointments within the
Colorado Springs Metro area,
and we'll reimburse you for travel time, as well as mileage.
Requirements
AMTA (American Music Therapy Association) approved (Masters or Bachelors) program and completion of clinical training including internshipActive Board-Certified Music Therapist by the CBMT (Certification Board for Music Therapists)Two (2) years of experience or related education or training in working with persons who have developmental disabilities, preferredPersonal vehicle in good operating condition for use during workValid Colorado driver license / Proof of auto vehicle insuranceMeet our agency driving requirements; no suspensions / revocations and no more than 2 tickets in the past 3 yearsWorking knowledge of the developmental disabilities system, rules and regulations, preferredKnowledge of motor development, motor disorders and appropriate therapeutic interventionsAbility to maintain necessary training, certifications and licensureExcellent oral and written communication skills; effectively communicates with individuals served, families, staff and othersAbility to work flexible hoursAbility to meet physical demands of the positionWe are committed to racial equity, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of our organization and our partnership with the IDD community. 28 - $35 per hour / session $14.81 per hour for drive time

Utilize a company issued tablet for work activitiesInitiate contact with individuals, families and providers as necessaryPerform consultative visits to families either alone or in consultation with other team members; accommodate individuals and families schedules in planning meetingsEstablish treatment goals and monitor progress as determined by the department; track progress and note areas of concerns or improvements for therapy plansComplete all program-related documentation; develop and maintain working case filesEnsure adherence to Division for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (DIDD) rules and regulations and agency policies and procedures in provision of services
