Requirements / Qualifications
Applicants must possess OR qualify for :
- Appropriate California Single Subject Credential in Industrial Technology OR
possess or qualify for an appropriate California Designated Subjects CTE Constructions
Trades Teaching Credential (in order to qualify for the CTE credential, you must possess three (3) years
industry experience with construction trades)

Comments and Other Information
The Mt. McKinley School , Martinez Campus, is located at Juvenile Hall. The school offers a variety of classes targeted at students' specific needs. All teachers are certificated, and the curriculum is aligned with the California State standards and frameworks. Lessons are designed to accommodate students diverse in ability and learning styles. Technology is highly valued and all students have access to computers. This program also helps students develop pro-social behaviors and life skills.
The teacher in this position will teach building and construction trades to students and lead students in developing construction projects. The program course of study is to be articulated to pre-apprenticeship community college courses. The teacher will also work with trade union partners and school administration to provide a bridge for students to apprenticeship opportunities in the community.
